FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

For sessions with kids, please bring snacks, blankets, or lovies that will make them feel at ease. A treat for the end of the session is a great incentive! As far as props, I am happy to accommodate 1 or 2 if you have a particular announcement or Pinterest photo you’d like to recreate. Some examples are sonogram photos or baby shoes at maternity sessions, teddy bears for milestone shoots, and signs for engagement or family photos.

When & how will i receive my photos?

Approximately 1-2 weeks after our session, you will receive an email with a link to view your gallery and select your favorites from the session. From there, I will view your selections and do the fine-tuning and final edits, and when completed, send you another email with the link to your final gallery. The files are delivered via a secure online gallery which you can share with friends and family members. Depending on the package you choose, you can expect to recieve your final edited images within 2-3 weeks following your final selections being made.

do you charge a travel fee?

Anything beyond 20 miles from my home in West Bloomfield Michigan, I charge .50 a mile.

do you offer different sessions than what is listed?

Yes! Are you a senior and wanting to get some great senior photos taken? Are you looking to have an extended family session? No matter the occasion, I'd love to work with you to create the perfect session that is right for YOU! Additionally, I offer different unique seasonal mini sessions throughout the year, so follow along!

Will you Photoshop my images to hide any unwanted spots, wrinkles, etc?

Hand edits will be made to all of your images (removal of scratches, blemishes, stray hairs, distracting background objects, etc.) but I believe our imperfections are what make us beautiful & unique. If there are specific edits you want, these will be charged according to the number and complexity of edits.

Why do you have different packages for newborn sessions?

Babies come on their own timeline, and I cannot designate a day on my calendar for a session until the baby is actually born. This means that there are a limited number of sessions I can book per month, upping the cost to make up the difference in my number of clients.

Newborn photography takes time. A typical outdoor family session can be achieved anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour depending on the package you book. The average full gallery newborn session can last 1.5 hours or more.

The amount of time spent editing is more time consuming compared to most other sessions. We all have this ideal picture in our head of newborns with creamy smooth skin when the reality is just the opposite. Newborn skin can be red, yellow, purple, blotchy, acne covered, or all of the above. They come with peeling skin, stork bites, hairy bodies, Mongolian spots, and gunky eyes. Many hours of work go into creating the creamy and beautiful finished product that you receive.

Lastly, I supply lifestyle newborn props (swaddles, headbands, blankets, moses basket) for these sessions. Not only is there a cost for purchasing these props, there is a cost to sanitizing and maintaining each prop after each use.
